W. Lee Young, Jr., DMD, MMSc
Meet Dr. Young
Dr. Young was born and raised in the low country of South Carolina. He attended the public school system in Hampton, and graduated from the University of South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his DMD degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, and also received a Master of Medical Science (MMSc) (Anesthesiology) from Emory University. Dr. Young completed his residency in Periodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina, and also received a Masters in Health Science at that time. He was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Periodontology at the Medical University of South Carolina from 1982 – 2016.
Dr. Young is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists, as well as many local and state organizations. Dr. Young is a diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and was a fellow of the International College of Dentists.
For over 30 years, Dr. Young has maintained an international lecture series for periodontists, concentrating on Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Young practices full time, limited to periodontology and dental implants, serving the residents of the coastal empire of Georgia, as well as the low country of South Carolina.
