We have quarterly lunch meetings in the Savannah office for all team members to make sure we address any questions or concerns and introduce any new systems, products, or equipment.
Administrative
It is important for a successful team member in one of these positions to be friendly, energetic, and dependable with a basic working knowledge of computer software and office equipment. The administrative team is primarily responsible for the initial contact with our patients, schedules appointments, reviews treatment plans and communicates with other offices. Once trained, administrative team members will also handle routine questions and financial discussions. Attention to detail is imperative. The patient comes first!
Surgical Assisting
The assistants in our surgical practices work together to prepare the patients and operatories for exams and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to sterilizing instruments, setting up materials and equipment, taking x-rays and cone beam scans, monitoring vitals during procedures, and advising patients of post-surgical and general oral healthcare. Other clinical tasks may include taking impressions and making surgical guides and/or stents. They assist the surgeons chair-side during exams, periodontal and implant surgical procedures, and post-operative evaluations. These amazing team members also assist our periodontal therapists with tray setup and sterilization when needed. Our assisting team also orders and tracks clinical supplies, monitors our OSHA/HIPAA guidelines, and maintains a clean and organized laboratory. Experience taking radiographs in a dental office is necessary. Proper radiographic imaging is a critical component of the doctor’s clinical assessment. And if that’s not enough, they also maintain the electronic medical record for the patient visit.
Periodontal Therapists
Our periodontal therapists are licensed registered dental hygienists. Our periodontal therapists have been practicing dental hygiene from 4 to more than 30 years! In addition to being skilled hygienists, they are excellent educators. Their primary commitment is to provide conservative, non-surgical treatment of gum disease and care of dental implants that help to limit or eliminate tooth or implant loss. They promote proper oral hygiene, removal of plaque, and hard and soft tissue deposits from tooth and root surfaces, and monitor any progression or recurrence of disease. They understand that what they do for their patients is critical to the long-term success of periodontal and implant treatment.
